At Northern Texas Facial & Oral Surgery, we take a “no-surprises” approach to your care. Before you begin treatment, you’ll receive a written, itemized statement of fees for the treatments the doctor recommends. We’ll also provide information about your estimated insurance coverage, as well as your options to pay for amounts not covered by your medical or dental insurance plan. NTFOS offers advanced-level treatment to remedy your situation and improve the quality of your life. Insurance often covers a basic level of service. As a result, some of the treatments recommended by your doctor may not be covered by your insurance plan. We’ll let you know your estimated portion of costs prior to the commencement of treatment.

FAQ’s about Finances and Insurance

Do you take my insurance?

We are happy to help you maximize your insurance benefits and to file a claim for you. We are participating providers for many medical and dental insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross, Cigna, Delta Dental, Guardian, Medicare, Metlife, United Healthcare and others. (Please note that Dr. Hunter is not contracted with Metlife.)

I have insurance. How much does the consult cost?

Early online registration can save you money because it gives us time to call your insurance and increase your savings for covered services. Your initial responsibility is the part that we estimate won’t be covered by insurance. A great way to get more information is to contact your insurance company directly. (The phone number is usually on the back of your insurance card.)

My orthodontist referred me for corrective jaw surgery.

There is a portion (for models and photos) that is not covered by insurance (see below) The minimum you will be responsible for is for the models and photos, but it can be as higher if your deductible has not been met.

How much does surgery cost?

An examination prior to surgery is necessary because costs are dependent upon many factors which must be determined with an examination. We will be able to tell you our fees after the surgeon sees you. You may owe less than the exact fees if you have insurance coverage. We will also share with you what we learned about your insurance and give you an estimate based on your specific benefits and our experience working with insurance companies. Your insurance will not guarantee payment; this limits your ability to have advance knowledge of your exact financial responsibility.
